After hearing about our services at a local community group meeting, Davida contacted CEA to see if we could help. Still active in her neighbourhood and a regular at many fitness classes and events, Davida struggled with a cold home.
Davida had issues with her heat pump and found that her new house wasn’t warming up easily. Following an initial consultation, Davida received free curtains, new downlights, a Home Energy Check, and insulation in her ceiling.
“It’s a lot warmer!” Davida explains. “The funny thing is when I come home, it’s cold when I walk through the door. But as soon as I am inside, it’s warm. So I do notice it. It’s a lot warmer than it used to be.”
This newfound warmth has been of great relief to Davida. Having a cold house would cause her health issues to flare up. “I’ve got a chest problem, so I need to have warmth”, Davida explains. “Otherwise, my chest plays up, and I get coughs. That’s why I need to have it warm.”
Davida was delighted with her newfound warmth and has quickly become an avid supporter of CEA. “I have to thank everybody because they were fantastic”, Davida explains. “They were polite, and they had respect. They were the nicest people to deal with, and you couldn’t wish for anything better.”
Davida knows the benefits of a warm home and wants to encourage people to take action if they have similar issues. “Another thing I say is CEA can do all the talking you like. But if somebody has had it done, it’s the best example. Anywhere I go, I say ‘does your mother or anyone have a community services card?’ you could get free insulation.”
